    Long-Range Planning

Taking initiative and determining a strategic approach to long-range planning are in your best interests. If you have significant assets, it is particularly important that you seek advice from a lawyer. The attorneys at our firm will take time to explain your options and advise of the best approach to take for your situation.

Part of the planning process includes a detailed discussion about lifetime gifting to family members. We will review the possibilities for charitable lead trusts and charitable remainder trusts, as well as review the federal and state gift tax regulations. Our goal is to help you effectively plan for the future and preserve your assets for family members.

    Medicaid Asset Protection Trust

A Medicaid asset protection trust, also known as an irrevocable family trust is an exceptionally good tool that can be used to protect your assets from creditors later in life(including Medicaid possibilities). A trustee (usually an adult child) is named to manage the trust for other beneficiaries, while parents remain able to have control over the assets of the trust for a certain time period. Talk to a lawyer at our firm for more information or to establish an irrevocable family trust.
